The UB and the Catalan Down Syndrome Foundation give the diplomas for the Training course for auxiliary services

On Friday, June 21, the diplomas for the Training course for auxiliary services for people with Down Syndrome were given. The course is organized by the University of Barcelona, through Voluntariat UB, with the Catalan Down Syndrome Foundation (FCSD). The nine students that completed the course took their diploma in a ceremony held in the boardroom in the Rectorʼs Office. The ceremony was presided over by the vice-rector for Equal Opportunities and Social Action of the UB, Maite Vilalta, together with the president of the FCSD, Katy Trias.
This is the second edition of the professionalizing contest, which has been taught by technical staff of the University and the Foundation for two months. The objective of this training is to teach the students the basic functions of auxiliary services and logistics at the UB. During these weeks, the students received training on audio-visual support in institutional events, user assistance, and information and logistic points in the different campuses, through a tutoring system.
This training is part of the collaboration agreement signed in October 2017 by the UB and the FSCD to organize training activities to ease the labour access of people with Down Syndrome or other intellectual disabilities.
