Exhibition: "Art and legacy: the restoration of the gallery of illustrious professors of the Faculty of Medicine"

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, in collaboration with the Office of the Vice-Rector for Culture, Memory and Heritage and the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona, has promoted the process of conservation and restoration of its gallery of portraits of illustrious professors. This operation has made it possible to stabilise and restore the correct legibility of the works, as well as to extract valuable historical and artistic information, both about the people portrayed and the artists responsible and their creative processes.

Willing to highlight the value of this unique heritage, the exhibition invites visitors to discover the process carried out by the restorers Elena Carnero, Glòria Palomares and Carlota Mosegui between April and June 2024.

The opening ceremony will be attended by the Vice-Rector for Culture, Memory and Heritage, Agustí Alcoberro; the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Antoni Trilla, and the restorers Elena Carnero, Carlota Mosegui and Glòria Palomares, who carried out the restorations.
