The University of Barcelona’s Student Council, the highest body representing UB students, has renewed its members. A new plenary session has been constituted and new members of the Standing Committee have been appointed. Carlos Campos has also been elected as secretary.
The new members of the Standing Committee of the Student Council are Carlos Campos, Hug Sala, Marta Urquiz, Aina van Dinteren, Guillem Ortega, Maria Navarro y Clara Jordà.

The changes in the Student Council respond to the results of the student elections that took place this May, in which the associations with the highest number of elected members were Som Universitaris and, in second place, Fem-la Pública. This is reflected in the new composition of the Standing Committee of the Student Council: four of the seven members are representatives of Som Universitaris, and the other three, of Fem-la Pública.

The Student Council is the body responsible for generating debate and carrying out the control and monitoring of general UB policies that affect students, and for safeguarding their rights and freedoms. Its Plenary is made up of all the students elected by the University Senate. The Standing Committee is the collegiate body for the execution, study, work and consultation of the Student Council, and its members are elected in proportion to the results obtained by the different candidates in the elections to the University Senate.

The Vice-Rectorate for Students and University Life is grateful for the work carried out by the former secretary of the Student Council, Gisele Camuñas.
