The Permanent Electoral Board of the University of Barcelona has published today, provisionally, the three official candidates to the election for the Rectorʼs Office. The candidates are, by alphabetical order, Joan Elias, professor of Mathematics and current rector; Joan Guàrdia, professor of Methodology of Behavioural Sciences; and David Vallespín, professor of Procedural Law. On Wednesday, November 11, the candidacies will be definitely announced.

More than 52,000 people are called to vote.

More than 52,000 people have the right to vote. There are four elector collectives in the Rectorʼs Office election. The vote of each group has a different value: permanent doctoral teaching staff (the total of votes of this collective has a value of 51%); other teaching and research staff (value accounting for 9%); students of first and second cycle studies and doctoral studies (30%), and administration and services staff (10%).
