The working committee that will develop the Torribera 2030: knowledge ecosystem project, promoted by Barcelona Provincial Council, the University of Barcelona, Santa Coloma de Gramenet City Council, the National University of Distance Education (UNED), and the Parc de Salut Mar (Hospital del Mar), CatSalut and Grameimpuls health care centres, has been set up today. This is a strategic initiative that aims to improve patterns of safe and healthy eating, through occupational, professional and university training, and to promote research, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The working committee that will develop the Torribera 2030: knowledge ecosystem project, promoted by Barcelona Provincial Council, the University of Barcelona, Santa Coloma de Gramenet City Council, the National University of Distance Education (UNED), and the Parc de Salut Mar (Hospital del Mar), CatSalut and Grameimpuls health care centres, has been set up today. This is a strategic initiative that aims to improve patterns of safe and healthy eating, through occupational, professional and university training, and to promote research, innovation and entrepreneurship.
The meeting took place in the Masia building on the UB’s Torribera Food Campus. Among the attendants were the rector of the UB, Joan Guàrdia; the president-delegate of the Department of General Services and Digital Transition, Pilar Díaz, and the mayor of Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Núria Parlón.

The rector of the UB said that the “Torribera Food Campus is fundamental to the University of Barcelona’s research strategy”.

The working lines for the period 2024-2025 were presented at this meeting. The working group led by the UB explained the educational offer of the Torribera Food Campus to work on proposals for the future shared by the different institutions involved. Other issues discussed included improving accessibility to the campus and the transformation of the hospital healthcare model for mental health patients.

The agenda ended with a visit to the Marina Pavilion at the Torribera exhibition centre.
