Josep Boatella was appointed new director of the Food and Nutrition Torribera Campus, which is part of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Science. The former director, Professor Màrius Rubiralta, resigned in order to declare his candidacy for the elections at the Rectorʼs Office of the University of Barcelona.

Josep Boatella was appointed new director of the Food and Nutrition Torribera Campus, which is part of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Science. The former director, Professor Màrius Rubiralta, resigned in order to declare his candidacy for the elections at the Rectorʼs Office of the University of Barcelona.

Josep Boatella (Barcelona, 1948) holds a doctorate in Pharmacy and is Professor in the area of Nutrition and Food Science. He is currently the director of the Department of Nutrition, Food Science and Gastronomy of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences. He was dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, vice-president of the Division of Health Sciences and rectorʼs delegate in the Food and Nutrition Torribera Campus. He is member of the research team Libifood (lipids and bioactive compounds in food). He is also a member of the Royal Academy of Pharmacy of Catalonia.
