Professor Pere Serra has a long teaching career in which he has always put students at the centre of his activities, making a great effort to adapt to different student profiles. His participation in teaching innovation projects and groups has been particularly intense in the area of teaching laboratories, which play a crucial role in experimental science programmes.
Eight universities within the Catalan university system are participating in the inter-university master’s degree in Women, Gender and Citizenship. The degree has been a transformative force in knowledge, promotion and development of gender equality policies, and has become a benchmark for training specialists in this field.
The Jaume Vicens Vives Awards will be presented during the opening ceremony of the academic year of the Catalan university system, which this year will take place on 3 October at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.
Board of Trustees Awards
Professor Casado is a founding member of the Teaching Innovation Group in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and has actively participated in the group since its inception in 2001. He has implemented a wide variety of teaching methods, exporting and adapting experiences in some subjects to others. As dean, he played a leading role in the creation of the Faculty’s degree map and had an impact on the training of all teaching staff, focusing particularly on new teaching methods.
The teaching team in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathophysiology has been working for many years to promote active learning and to adapt teaching to the particular characteristics of students, taking advantage of new technological tools. The team’s contributions include the creation of teaching resources, the use of clinical cases as a learning tool, and the adaptation of teaching to active methods and new environments.
