The Sustainability and Human Rights Poster Award honours works in the fields of law, sociology and medicine

Three posters, made by seven master’s degree students from the faculties of Law, Economics and Business, and Medicine and Health Sciences, have won this year’s University of Barcelona’s Sustainability and Human Rights Poster Prize, coordinated by the UB Solidarity Foundation and the Institute for Professional Development (IDP). The aim of the award is to involve the university community in the critical dissemination of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda, based on ethical principles of sustainability, human rights and global justice.

Three posters, made by seven master’s degree students from the faculties of Law, Economics and Business, and Medicine and Health Sciences, have won this year’s University of Barcelona’s Sustainability and Human Rights Poster Prize, coordinated by the UB Solidarity Foundation and the Institute for Professional Development (IDP). The awards ceremony took place this Monday, 18 November, in the Historic Building’s Aula Ramón y Cajal. It was presided over by the rector, Joan Guàrdia, accompanied by the vice-rector for Equality and Gender, Montserrat Puig, and the vice-Rector for Sustainability and Climate Action, Teresa Sauras, and was attended by the award-winning students. The ceremony was scheduled around World Science Day for Peace and Development (10 November) to highlight the contribution of studies to improving living conditions.
The three award-winning works are:
- ¿Por qué no tomas tú el control? La vasectomía como herramienta de corresponsabilidad en la planificación familiar, by Isabella Marie del Villar, Fernanda Nicole Navarro and Valentina Javiera Suau, students of the Master in Public Policy: Social Rights and Equality Policies at the Faculty of Law.
- Ana ma’ak. Estic al teu costat. Actuació que promou el posicionament actiu i la creació de xarxes de suport a les supervivents de violència de gènere a través de pràctiques orientades a la xarxa en espais comunitaris musulmans a Catalunya, by Yassamina El Houssaini, student of the Master’s degree in Sociology: Social Transformations and Innovation at the Faculty of Economics and Business.
- Periodontal insights for pregnant women in Tanzania. Nurses and midwives: a force of health, by Pau Cahuana, Octavi Camps and Adrià Jorba, students of the Master’s Degree in Periodontology and Peri-implantology of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Science.
