The University of Barcelona, recognized for its commitment to training in advanced technological skills
The University of Barcelona has won the Trainer of the Year 2025 awards from EIT Deep Tech Talent, an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), funded by the European Commission. It honours the UB’s commitment to training in advanced technological skills and its dedication to fostering talent, areas in which the UB’s Office of the Vice-Rector for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Transfer and the Office of the Vice-Rector for Academic Policy and Quality have worked together.
The University of Barcelona has won the Trainer of the Year 2025 awards from EIT Deep Tech Talent, an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), funded by the European Commission. It honours the UB’s commitment to training in advanced technological skills and its dedication to fostering talent, areas in which the UB’s Office of the Vice-Rector for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Transfer and the Office of the Vice-Rector for Academic Policy and Quality have worked together.
The UB, which won the second prize in the university category, was awarded for its training initiatives in advanced technological skills. These include the master in Quantum Science and Technologies and the five micro-credential programme Deep Tech Brain, promoted by the Institute of Neurosciences (UBneuro). The EIT Deep Tech Talent award specifically recognizes the training of 7,832 people in advanced technological skills between January 2023 and June 2025.
The UB has been part of the EIT Deep Tech Talent’s Pledger Community since 2023. This network of entities has already trained more than 1.3 million people in advanced technological skills in just three years.
