More than 125 high school girls will participate in this second edition of the Olympiad, which aims to make female talent visible and invite participants to explore this field in a different way. The event will take place from 9.00 am to 8.00 pm, and will combine mathematical problem-solving with fun activities and talks in which participants will be able to meet leading mathematicians and interact with them.

The prizes will be given at the end of competition, at 7.30 pm, in the auditorium of the Barcelona School of Industrial Engineering. The ceremony will be presented by the Catalan tiktoker and TV presenter Shalanazz and among the attendees will be the Minister for Equality and Feminism of the Government of Catalonia, Eva Menor; the rector of the UPC, Daniel Crespo; the rector of UAB, Javier Lafuente; the dean of the UAB’s Faculty of Sciences, Juan Jesús Donaire; the dean of the UB’s Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Oriol Pujol; the dean of the UPC’s Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics, Jordi Guàrdia, and the president of the Catalan Mathematics Society, Montserrat Alsina. The director of the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation, Miquel Gómez; representatives of the Associació per la Promoció i Orientació del Talent en Matemàtica Avançada (APOTEMA), and the companies Aily Labs and Casio, which are supporting the Olympiad, will also take part.

The top-ranked participants in the Catalan Women’s Mathematical Olympiad will be eligible to participate in the selection process for the European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO).
