The UB offers an extensive academic offering that is increasingly flexible and adapted to the social context

The dual minor, which aims to deepen collaboration with entities and companies, is specifically incorporated into the bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. This option allows students to work on their final year subjects in a work environment. In this way, the process of acquiring skills can be improved and successful integration into the labour market is facilitated once they have completed their studies. The dual minor option is also offered in the degrees of the affiliated centre CETT.
Three degrees have renewed their syllabuses for the next academic year: Statistics, Labour Relations and Human Resources, and Communication and Cultural Industries. In the case of Statistics, the degree has been adapted to the new needs of the working world and subjects have been added that have gained importance with the recent advances in data science. It allows for greater specialization in very diverse environments, such as biosciences, finance, machine learning and scientific research. On the other hand, in the bachelor’s degree in Labour Relations and Human Resources, two main areas of employment are considered: the development of the functions of social graduates (a profession that requires compulsory membership of a professional association) and employment in human resources departments or units. Three possible itineraries are proposed: human resources, legal-labour or free-form teaching, without either of the two previous itineraries. The renewal of the degree in Communication and Cultural Industries responds to the desire to adapt to the new operational and functional environments that have emerged in the communication and sociocultural landscape, in general, as a result of the growing generalization of the major drivers of digital transformation (social media, data science, AI...).
In terms of affiliated schools, the UB has added two new bachelor’s degrees at the CETT: International Hotel Management and Marketing, Events and Entertainment. The new inter-university degree in which the UB participates has also been added to the CETT’s offer: Design for Food Systems. In addition, for the first time, CETT offers the possibility of following an open degree in the four degrees offered by CETT: Tourism; Digital Business and Innovation in Tourism; International Hotel Management; and Marketing, Events and Entertainment. The open degree option allows a single entry and allows students to choose later, once they have already completed part of their studies, which of the four degrees they wish to take.
UB stand
The UB stand at Saló de l’Ensenyament has a surface area of 180 square metres. It is divided into six islands according to areas of knowledge, a general information island and a space for group talks. Fourteen interactive touch screens will be distributed throughout the stand to offer personalized advice. The information team is made up of specific information officers from the centres, general information officers to quickly guide the student towards the study in which they are interested and technical staff from the Student Support Service. The final objective is to inform and provide a satisfactory life experience to the students of Saló de l’Ensenyament.
The UB stand will also be staffed by information officers from the affiliated schools of the Catalan Film and Audiovisual School (ESCAC), the School of Public Relations and the Institute for Public Security of Catalonia.
The UB stand is located in Pavilion 1 of the Montjuïc exhibition centre, Carrer B, 221.
