On 15 October, the application period opens for applications to study at one of the more than one thousand universities around the world with which the University of Barcelona has an international mobility agreement. To this end, the UB has launched an information and support campaign for students who wish to study abroad for part of their studies.

The deadline for applications is 15 October to 12 November. These dates are the same for the UB’s various international mobility programmes: Erasmus for studies or Erasmus for work placements within Europe; Erasmus International Credit Mobility, outside Europe; and the Global Faculty UB and Global UB Mobility programmes, which bring together, respectively, the specific mobility agreements signed by the UB’s different faculties or general agreements with universities outside Europe. There is also the possibility for students to make individual applications for specific exchanges with universities without prior agreements.

Sixth UB International Mobility Fair

A dissemination campaign has been launched to publicize all the possibilities offered by these mobility programmes, as well as the financial aid that people can apply for. This year, the amount of the Santander Erasmus Grant has been increased, as well as the number of grants and the amount of the Santander International Mobility Grant for students on the Global programmes. Along these lines, the sixth edition of the International Mobility Fair will take place on 17 October in the gardens of the UB’s Historic Building, as part of Erasmus Days, where students will be able to find out first-hand about all the options for studying abroad. This year the fair has the University of Sarajevo as a guest partner and students will also be able to find out about national mobility options through the SICUE programme. There will be information points from all the faculties, the School of Modern Languages, the Language Services, the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) and Joves de Barcelona, among others.

Everyone who attends will receive a gift from the UB to take part in a survey and will enter into a draw to win two travel backpacks. The UB is thus highlighting the importance of international mobility for deepening knowledge, strengthening language learning and expanding students' future career opportunities.
