In this talk, Professor Julio Bastos will explain how science has managed to observe and understand what is invisible to the naked eye, and how this knowledge is transforming the way we live, look after ourselves and protect the environment. A presentation on how the smallest things can bring about the most significant changes, thanks to nanotechnology and analytical chemistry.

Julio Bastos is an associate professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Chemistry. He specialises in the development of chemical sensors, functional materials and nanoscale micromotors, with applications in environmental analysis, health and modern analytical chemistry.
