The 2023-2024 Annual Report is now available
This new edition of the report includes a reference to the 2030 Agenda at the beginning of each chapter, including the sustainable development goals linked to the different themes. The selection has been agreed with the Office of the Vice-Rector for Sustainability and Climate Action. Likewise, in the section on transparency, ethics and good governance, this year the results and degree of achievement of the objectives of the governance plan for the period 2022-2024 can be found, with the assessment of 387 indicators.
The UB’s Annual Report responds to the institution’s duty and desire to be transparent and accountable to the university community and society. In the prologue, the Rector, Joan Guàrdia, explains that the document “reflects the work, the rigour, the demands and the responsibility with which the entire University of Barcelona community carries out its mission”.
The 2023-2024 Report begins with a chapter titled “The University of Barcelona Today”, which describes the main features that characterize the institution and outlines the features that define its identity. Then, the publication is then divided into four thematic blocks: “A university engaged with society”, with initiatives linked to transparency, ethics, good governance, sustainability, institutional, cultural and solidarity activities, social commitment and entrepreneurship; “A university at the forefront of education”, which collects information on the academic offering, student services and teaching innovation, evaluation and improvement; “A university at the vanguard of research”, which analyses research activity, internationalization and the attraction of talent and resources, scientific production, transfer of technology, knowledge and innovation, and work in doctoral studies and the dissemination of scientific culture; and “An international university”, on the internationalization strategy of the institution and the mobility of the different university groups.
The publication was produced by the Technical Bureau at the Rector’s Office and published by UB Editions. A print run of 180 copies of the Catalan version has been produced, which will be distributed within the University and sent to various organizations and institutions linked to higher education in Catalonia. Like last year, the English and Spanish editions, which are expected to be available soon, will be published in digital version only. The document in electronic format will be sent to various national and international institutions and bodies.
