With a doctoral degree from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Cascante underwent a postdoctoral stay at the University of Wisconsin (United States) and other research stays at the universities of Tsukuba (Japan) and Missouri (United States). Her scientific career focuses on the areas of complex, harmonic and real analysis, on which she has published around fifty research articles.
The Mathematics Research Centre was created in 1984 aiming to promote excellence research, transfer and advanced training in mathematics. It is a CERCA center since 2014, and it has hired researchers and affiliated researchers from the UB, the UAB and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. The CRM has received the María de Maetzu Unit of Excellence accreditation in 2014 and 2021.
