Guàrdia stressed that “inclusion must be a concept integrated into people’s lives and well managed by the public administration”. “The most powerful tool we have in the University is knowledge and we must use every academic activity to do what should be done, which is to teach and train to improve our society”, he said.
M. Pilar Díaz, director of the master’s degree and lecturer at the UB’s Faculty of Education, expressed her satisfaction at the launch of the second edition of this programme, “which aims to progress towards a more inclusive and friendly society”.
Àngels Canals, director of the Barcelona Social Services Consortium, thanked the University for “promoting such a necessary training and renewing its commitment to the inclusion and rights of people with disabilities”.
Finally, Marta Villanueva, Councillor for Health at Barcelona City Council, pointed out that the council “has a clear vision for the future, which is to advance the rights of people with disabilities”. “We must join forces, training agents of change to transform our city and make it more inclusive, and this postgraduate course represents a great opportunity”, she continued.

During the event, the monograph Training and employment as levers of change for the social inclusion of people with disabilities was presented by the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Silvia Burset.
Diplomas for the 2022-2023 edition of the master’s degree were also given. Representing the sponsors promoting the scholarships for students with disabilities were Felipe Campos, CEO of Agbar; Belén Ramos, director of the Northeast area of the Randstad Foundation; Francisco de Paula, from the La Caixa Foundation; Dolors Garcia, from the ONCE Foundation, and Javier de Oña, deputy director-general of the Integralia-DKV Foundation.
