Dialogue between Joan Guàrdia and Jaume Duch on the future of the European Union
The presentation of the book, which reviews the history of the European elections through the analysis of experts and the testimony of former MEPs, will take place in the Ramón y Cajal room of the UB’s Historic Building (Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 585). The event will be opened by Xavier López, director of the UB Solidarity Foundation.
During the conversation, Jaume Duch and Rector Guàrdia will look back on the evolution and enlargement of the European Union since the first elections to the European Parliament in 1979, and will address the main challenges facing the institution in this new five-year period, which will begin with the plenary session on 16 July in Strasbourg.
