Let's UB! encourages the relationship between university entrepreneurs, businesses and investors

On May 23, the Let's UB! session took place at the Historical Building of the University of Barcelona. This session was aimed at promoting synergy between the university's entrepreneurs and Barcelona's business ecosystem. The program included talks by entrepreneurs and marketing experts, workshops and the III Investment Forum, in which twelve innovative companies linked to the UB presented their projects to investors in order to establish connections and obtain financial support.

On May 23, the Let's UB! session took place at the Historical Building of the University of Barcelona. This session was aimed at promoting synergy between the university's entrepreneurs and Barcelona's business ecosystem. The program included talks by entrepreneurs and marketing experts, workshops and the III Investment Forum, in which twelve innovative companies linked to the UB presented their projects to investors in order to establish connections and obtain financial support.

On the one hand, Meritxell Teixidó, CEO of Gate2Brain and renowned biomedical researcher, shared her experience in the development of new technologies to overcome the blood-brain barrier and improve the brain drug delivery. Her innovative vision and ability to overcome obstacles have earned her the Women Startup Awards 2022 in the Inspiration category. On the other hand, Mathieu Alemany Oliver, associate professor of marketing and consumer culture at TBS Education, gave the talk "Zombi Technologies: Sustainable Innovation and Marketing in the Anthropocene".

The workshop, aimed at UB teaching and research staff, taught key skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity, using the Innovation Toolkit. This tool provides new possibilities to improve learning in the classroom.

The following companies participated in the III Investment Forum: Benesit, Sponsify, Dekines, Lexy, Filmo, Ludens Projects, Neu Boots, NZero, Omashu, Saluderint, Scratch Jr Tactile - Sistema THEAD and Virmedex Virtual Experiences. 

The session, organised by StartUB!, ended with the presentation of awards to the outstanding projects of the StartUB! Spring programme: BlindStairs, which won first prize, hiSofia (second prize) and Microo (secondary prize), and with the recognition of the companies incubated in StartUB! in the categories of social impact (this year's winner was The Blue Box), scalability (Dekines) and innovation (Benesit).
