UB professor Petia Radeva, recognized as a leading woman figure in ICT

Petia Ivanova Radeva, professor at the University of Barcelona, has been selected for the LaIA 2025 List, which recognizes 55 leading women in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT).

Petia Ivanova Radeva, professor at the University of Barcelona, has been selected for the LaIA 2025 List, which recognizes 55 leading women in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT).
Radeva is a professor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science and a member of the UB Institute of Mathematics. With a degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Sofia (Bulgaria) and a PhD in Computer Science from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, she is a principal investigator of the Consolidated Research Group in Artificial Intelligence and Biomedical Applications at the UB, former research manager at the State Research Agency of the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities and editor-in-chief of the journal Pattern Recognition. Her research focuses on machine and deep learning, computer vision and artificial intelligence applied to health.
The LaIA List is an initiative of DONADIGITAL, an independent communication platform created to address the gender gap in the technology sector in Catalonia, with an intergenerational perspective. With the presentation of LaIA, the aim is to highlight and recognize the commitment and talent of women in the field of ICT and, at the same time, inspire future generations.
