Professor Jordi Pons, appointed member of the Bank of Spain
Jordi Pons, professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Barcelona, has been appointed as a member of the Bank of Spain.
Jordi Pons holds a PhD in Economics and is a professor of Applied Economics at the UB. Between January 2007 and February 2022, Pons was a trustee of the Public Audit Office of Catalonia (Sindicatura de Comptes de Catalunya), an external audit body that oversees the accounts, economic management and financial control of the public sector in Catalonia.

Jordi Pons holds a PhD in Economics and is a professor of Applied Economics at the UB. He has participated, as a member of the team and also as principal investigator, in several projects funded by competitive public calls, in Catalonia, Spain and around Europe.
The Spanish Government has also appointed Soledad Núñez as Deputy Governor and Lucía Rodríguez as a member to the Bank of Spain.
