Exhibition inauguration: "Funerary art in Catalan medicine. A walk through Barcelona's cemetries"

Every culture understands death according to people's beliefs and patterns, and the perception people have is influenced by the spontaneity with which it takes place.

This exhibition offers a walk around several cemetries in Barcelona to find the historical tie between numerous personalities of the Catalan medicine and the artistic creations of the funerary field that remember them. Therefore, we can find open-air museums here.

​​​​​​​Curated by Ida Carrau and Joan Pujol, and coordinated by the Clínic Campus CRAI Library, the exhibition includes illustrations by the artist Joan Bueno, documents given by the Funerary Library of Cemetries of Barcelona and by the Sitges Municipal Archive of Manuscripts (from a donation by Jordi Miravent Castiel), as well as monographs of the UB's Learning and Research Resources Centre (CRAI).
