In its 2024 call for applications, the ICREA Academia programme has awarded sixteen members of the research and teaching staff (PDI) of the University of Barcelona. In the Catalan university system, fifty professors from different fields of knowledge have been recognized, each of whom will receive 40,000 euros per year for a period of five years. The UB is the institution that has received the most grants in this call for applications.

In its 2024 call for applications, the ICREA Academia programme has awarded sixteen members of the research and teaching staff (PDI) of the University of Barcelona. In the Catalan university system, fifty professors from different fields of knowledge have been recognized, each of whom will receive 40,000 euros per year for a period of five years. The UB is the institution that has received the most grants in this call for applications.
These grants, given by the Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies (ICREA), aim to promote research talent in Catalan universities. Since its creation, the ICREA Academia programme has awarded 439 members of the Catalan university system with these grants, which are aimed exclusively at university lecturers who are teaching and who are in a fully active and expanding phase of their research activity.​​​​​​​

  • Albert Falcó Gimeno, professor at the Department of Political Science, Constitutional Law and Philosophy of Law
  • Manuel García-Carpintero Sánchez-Miguel, professor at the Department of Philosophy
  • Ángel Jorba Monte, professor at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science and member of the Institute of Mathematics (IMUB) and member of CRM.
  • Joana Masó Illamola, professor at the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures and English Studies
  • Joan Montero Boronat, professor at the Department of Biomedicine and member of the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC)
  • Marc Oliva Franganillo, professor at the Department of Geography
  • Modesto Orozco López, professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biomedicine and member of the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona)
