Meet the winners of the 2nd Sona UB competition

The four winning bands of the second edition of the music contest Sona UB are Nina Barceló, La Laie, Baleriia and Las Amigas de lo Ajeno. The UB community decided these are the guest artists that will perform at Els Vespres d’Estiu. This year, the concerts will take place on 8, 10, 15, 17 July at the Ferran Soldevila gardens in the Historic Building.

The four winning bands of the second edition of the music contest Sona UB are Nina Barceló, La Laie, Baleriia and Las Amigas de lo Ajeno. The UB community decided these are the guest artists that will perform at Els Vespres d’Estiu. This year, the concerts will take place on 8, 10, 15, 17 July at the Ferran Soldevila gardens in the Historic Building. 
Over 350 people tsoook part in the popular vote phase, which was open to all the members of the UB community. In order, according to the votes received, the winners were: 
 
  • Nina Barceló studies at the Faculty of Philology and Communication and this year presented her debut album ROISSY, which, with an evocative aesthetic, captures the nostalgia and modernity of Barcelona. 
  • La Laie is a student of the Faculty of Chemistry and since 2020 she has presented her musical proposal on various stages, influenced by styles from the urban scene such as R&B, jazz, trap, afrobeat and pop. 
  • Baleriia, a student at the Faculty of Philology and Communication, presents her project, which is somewhere between R&B and neo-pop, with some neo-soul influences. 
  • Las Amigas de lo Ajeno is a project formed by two students from the Faculty of Philology and Communication, which combines acoustic concerts of their songs with DJ set performances improvising with their instruments (saxophone and bass).
