After a brilliant trajectory, the team from the University of Barcelona (GaUB) has won second place in the final of the Mathematics League 2024-2025, held on 8 April in Oviedo.
The competition consists of two phases, the regular phase and the final phase, and involves solving three challenging mathematical problems in 90-minute matches. The UB team managed to qualify for the Final Phase in an intense regular phase. Finally, after a thrilling victory in the semi-final, they won the silver medal.

This is a great success for the UB group made up of students from different years and degrees: “We have a first-year student, who is studying a dual degree in Mathematics and Physics; there are ten second-year students from the Mathematics and dual degree courses, as well as third-year students”, says Bernat Esteve, a second-year student at the UB’s Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science and coordinator of the University’s team in the League.

The Mathematics League is an initiative organized by ANEM (National Association of Mathematics Students) that aims to promote mathematics, unite its students and ensure that the value of mathematics endures over time.
