The UB Focus InnoFood Platform, at the University of Barcelona’s Food and Nutrition Torribera Campus, has been one of the awardees of the eighth edition of the Observatory of Innovation in Mass Consumption (OIGC) Award, which has become a benchmark for innovation in the agri-food sector. 
The awards for the 20 most outstanding innovative initiatives of the year were announced at the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities on Tuesday 18 February. These projects are promoted by the private, non-profit foundation Institut Cerdà. There were 350 projects submitted, of which 60 were accepted. A committee of 16 independent experts chose the 20 final innovation initiatves.
