Barcelona is the guest of honour at this year’s fair, a recognition that reinforces its central role in the Latin American market.
The UB’s participation in Guadalajara is part of its aim to promote the University’s research, scientific publishing and cultural production internationally. The wide range of titles from UB Editions on display, with a balance between new releases, reference works and popular publications, highlights the diversity and strength of the catalogue, as well as its commitment to reaching new audiences and strengthening its presence in global publishing circles.

UB Editions is present with nearly 1,000 copies distributed across three spaces. The pavilion dedicated to Barcelona displays nearly 100 titles, including Barcelona. L’eterna promessa, Mercè Rodoreda i els clàssics, Breve historia de la Universidad de Barcelona and Barcelona, ciudad de novela, along with a selection of works on the humanities, arts, sciences and contemporary thought.

FIL is a platform with exceptional visibility. It brings together more than 2,000 publishing houses, over 750 authors from 49 countries, and attracts more than 900,000 visitors. In addition to being a first-rate professional showcase, it is a meeting place that connects institutions, creators, and the general public in an environment of maximum cultural effervescence. The fair’s programme covers literature, visual arts, music, thought, cinema and digital experiences, with a strong Catalan presence in all these disciplines.

The rector of the UB, Joan Guàrdia, travelled to Mexico to attend the inauguration of the Catalonia stand and to participate in the activities organized by Barcelona City Council and the Government of Catalonia in the city of Guadalajara to coincide with the fair, such as the presentation of Catalonia in Mexico organized by the Catalan Tourist Board.
