A delegation from the University of Barcelona is in New Delhi, India, to participate in the annual conference of the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE). This meeting, which reaches its eighteenth edition in 2025, brings together more than 2,500 delegates from universities and higher education institutions from all over the world.

The UB will be at the Study in Catalonia stand, together with the rest of the universities of the Catalan system. The aim is to strengthen and establish new relationships with institutional partners in the Asia-Pacific region, with special emphasis on India on this occasion. The UB delegation will take part in activities to explore areas such as student and staff mobility, international networks and research. Members of the University will also have the opportunity to visit several university campuses in the region and to participate in the official reception at the Spanish Embassy in Delhi.

The UB has 54 mobility agreements in force with higher education institutions in the Asia-Pacific region, both institutional and faculty agreements. These include 14 agreements with Chinese universities, 9 with the Republic of Korea and 9 with Japan, as well as agreements with universities in Australia, New Zealand, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan and Singapore.

The UB currently has more than 4,600 international agreements, of which nearly 2,300 are exchange agreements with universities in 62 countries. Each year it offers its students around 635 destinations for mobility stays, and more than 1,400 students benefit from these opportunities.
