Tomorrow, Tuesday 11 March, the team sports finals of the Catalan University Championships 2025 (CCU), the competition in the Catalan university world, will be held. The UB teams, which have been competing since November, will fight for victory in Tarragona, this year’s university sports village.

Tomorrow, Tuesday 11 March, the team sports finals of the Catalan University Championships 2025 (CCU), the competition in the Catalan university world, will be held. The UB teams, which have been competing since November, will fight for victory in Tarragona, this year’s university sports village.
The University of Barcelona is making history, as it will be present in ten of the twelve competition finals. The women’s teams have filled and will compete in the finals of rugby, handball, volleyball, football, futsal and basketball, while only volleyball and men’s football have been left out. In last year’s edition, the UB was champion of Catalonia in football, futsal and women’s rugby as well as in basketball and men’s rugby, after winning the five finals in which it participated.
At the same time, in individual sports, on 9 February, the UB team won a total of 30 medals at the CCU swimming championships, where it won the university title. In April, some 20 will represent the University at the Spanish University Swimming Championships in Madrid.

Martina Laplana, a Biology student who was the fastest runner in the Unirun 2025, will also represent the UB at the Spanish University Championships, which will take place on 22 March in Madrid, after winning the CCU Cross Country Championships in February.
The CCU started last November with the team sports preliminary phase and the Climbing CCU in Vic, and will end in May with the gymnastics competition in Lleida.
