Ferran Palau is one of the most solid distinguished singer-songwriter in the contemporary Catalan musical scene. He has a precise sensitiveness and musical control covering folk, pop, R&B and trap. Each of his albums is an expression of love for the experience of life. Six years after his performance in Els Vespres de la UB, he is back to present an acoustic version of his album Kevin, without forgetting his most well-known songs.
“Year after year, the cycle fills its capacity with more than 4,000 attendants per edition, and the University of Barcelona did not want to leave this audience without this musical date, a must in the cultural agenda for music lovers”, say the members of the organization. This is why “we decided to adapt Els Vespres to a virtual format and inviting a consolidated artist, programming an only concert that will exceed the expectations of those who expect the most”, they add.
Els Vespres de la UB, both the summer (July) and winter (February) editions -the former in the Ferran Soldevila garden of the Historical Building, and the latter in the Paranimph-, go for emerging music in the current Catalan scene. Bands like Mishima (2007), Las Migas (2007 and 2008), Manel (2008), Maria Rodés (2011), La Iaia (2012) and Rosalía (2016) have performed in this cycle when they were not known by the general audience.
