Projects provide students with cross-curricular competences associated to the degree in Pharmacy (cooperative work, leadership, creativity, communicative strategies, etc.) and abilities related to the edition of audiovisual educational materials (videos, leaflets, presentations, etc.). With this initiative, the Faculty of Pharmacy joins efforts to get a patient-focused health system, by instilling this attitude into students and training them in social volunteering.
This year, a total of 116 students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, grouped into teaching coordination units (UCD) and supervised by adjunct lecturers, have developed nine pharmaceutical education projects. In the category of hospital pharmacy, the award-winning project is Educació farmacèutica en el tractament de la malaltia dʼAlzheimer, developed at the UCD Barcelonès Nord i Maresme and the UCD Costa de Ponent, and coordinated by lecturers Pilar Giner, Anna Mas and Ramón Jodar. In the category of community pharmacy, the award-winning project is Educació farmacèutica en les malalties de transmissió sexual, carried out at the UCD Barcelona Sud and supervised by the lecturer Antoni Miró.
This year, the jury was composed by Dr Montserrat Miñarro, head of studies of the degree in Pharmacy; Dr Josefa Badia, vice-dean of Postgraduate and Doctoral Programmes; Dr Marian March, head of the Teaching Coordination Unit of Guided Practicals, and Elisenda Canals, Florentina Botet and Josep Maria Magrinyà, representatives of the Federació Farmacèutica. On 11 June, on the closure of the lifelong learning programme of the Federació Farmacèutica, award winners —students and lecturers— will receive the accreditation that enables them to attend the former programme during one year.
