The University of Barcelona will transform the most emblematic spaces of the Historic Building into the setting for an escape room whose central theme will be the knowledge generated by the university community over 575 years. The activity, titled “The Ancestral Mystery of the UB”, will be open on 13, 14, 20 and 21 December. It will be free of charge and suitable for all audiences, including families with children.

The University of Barcelona will transform the most emblematic spaces of the Historic Building into the setting for an escape room whose central theme will be the knowledge generated by the university community over 575 years. The activity, titled “The Ancestral Mystery of the UB”, will be open on 13, 14, 20 and 21 December. It will be free of charge and suitable for all audiences, including families with children.
The UB wants people to feel that the 575th anniversary is theirs too, and the escape room is a fun, family-friendly activity that will allow the public to discover one of the UB’s most emblematic spaces, as well as part of its history and its contribution to society.
The escape room will be open from 11.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. and from 4.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. and each session lasts between 45 and 60 minutes. To participate, it is necessary to book in advance, using this form.
During the activity, players will face 10 challenges that will take place in spaces such as the vestibule, the Ferran Soldevila garden, the Paranymph gallery, and the courtyards of the faculties of Mathematics and Computer Science and Philology and Communication. Participants will step into the role of investigators from an agency that deals with paranormal events, whose mission is to save humanity’s knowledge. Aliens warn that human wisdom is in danger. The only way to save it is to find an antidote in a temple of knowledge, like the University of Barcelona.
