The ICREA Academia programme has awarded, in the 2022 call for applications, eight researchers from the University of Barcelona. These grants, now in their fourteenth year, are an initiative to retain research talent in Catalonia. Awarded by the Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies (ICREA), they distinguish the research career of teaching staff working at one of the eight Catalan public universities.

Since its creation, the ICREA Academia programme has given more than 300 researchers in the Catalan university system these grants, which are aimed exclusively at university lecturers who are teaching and who are in a fully active and expanding phase of their research activity.
