The University of Barcelona incorporates two new university hospitals

The rector of the UB, Joan Guàrdia, highlights the work of the two centres “for the continuous improvement of their healthcare, teaching and research tasks”, and points out that “the University will continue to work together with the healthcare institutions for the citizens as a whole”. Guàrdia stresses that the accreditations of the new university hospitals “are a significant event that has a positive impact on a strategic area for us: the binomial between the UB and the associated health institutions”.
The Mollet University Hospital (Hospital Universitari de Mollet ) is the acute care hospital of the Mollet Health Foundation, which provides a public service to 165,000 people in Baix Vallès. It offers most of the medical and surgical specialities, and is a benchmark in nephrology and dialysis in the area. It is internationally recognized as a Green Hospital and organizes social projects through the Obra Social El Roure.
The Hospital Sagrat Cor, with a capacity of 332 beds, offers almost all medical and surgical specialities. It occupies a group of buildings located in the Esquerra de l’Eixample district of Barcelona. Managed by the Quirónsalud group, the hospital has undergone major infrastructural reforms to modernize and incorporate new technological equipment.
