On Monday 8 July, the Rector of the University of Barcelona, Joan Guàrdia, and the spokesperson and Director General for Communication of the European Parliament, Jaume Duch, reflected on the need to safeguard historical memory, and on the challenges that democracy in the European Union must face. This dialogue was the central event of the presentation of the book 10 elections. A history of the European Parliament at the ballot box (1979-2024), published by the European Memory Observatory (EUROM) of the UB Solidarity Foundation and The Jean Monnet House.

This dialogue was the central event of the presentation of the book 10 elections. Xavier López, director of the Solidarity Foundation, opened the event by stressing the importance of historical memory in safeguarding European democratic values. Laura Rosel, Director of Communication at the UB, chaired the dialogue between Guàrdia and Duch, who addressed the basic ideas set out in the twelve articles in the book.
