The University of Barcelona, hit by the devastating consequences of the dana storm that has affected the Valencian Autonomous Community, has thrown itself into helping the affected population through the UB Solidarity Foundation. It is therefore encouraging the university community to channel its support through financial donations that will enable the organisations providing aid on the ground to acquire what is needed at any given time.
The Valencian NGDO Coordinating Committee (CVONGD) has listed all the entities currently working on the ground, some of which are the following:
- Valencia Red Cross is responsible for rescuing and caring for those affected, as well as carrying out housing recovery work in the affected areas.
- Oxfam Intermón has launched a fundraising campaign to help migrants, domestic workers in precarious conditions and affected farm workers.
- Valencia Cáritas has activated an emergency fund to respond to the needs of those affected.
- Farmamundi has set up an account number to channel funds to the victims, and asks not to collect medicines, as donations of this type should be managed by specialised organizations.
The attached document explains the procedure to be able to collaborate.
