The University of Barcelona has launched the “The UB in 575 Images” photography competition, a participatory initiative inviting the university community to share their perspective on the occasion of its 575th anniversary.
The University of Barcelona has launched the “The UB in 575 Images” photography competition, a participatory initiative inviting the university community to share their perspective on the occasion of its 575th anniversary.
The competition aims to create a collective album of 575 photographs that capture university life and participants’ personal connection to the UB: iconic spaces, shared moments or details that illustrate what it means to be part of the UB community.
To participate, users must post their photos on Instagram using the hashtag #LaMevaUB and tag the UB’s official account @unibarcelona, ensuring their profile remains public for the duration of the competition. The University will review the photos posted and, once approved, will feature them on the 575th anniversary website.
Based on this selection, a collection of 575 images will be curated for display in a public exhibition during June and July 2026.
The competition is open to current and former members of the UB community: students, research and teaching staff (PDI), technical, management, and administrative and service staff (PTGAS), and members of UB Alumni, the Ateneu UB, affiliated centres and the UB Group.
The entry period opens today, 23 March, and closes on 31 May. On 1 June, a prize draw will be held among all participants, and the winner will receive a selection of UB merchandise.
