The Rector, Joan Guàrdia, speaks at a high-level meeting in Paris

Some rectors and vice-rectors members of CHARM-EU were invited to participate, as representatives of European university alliances, in a high-level event in Paris yesterday. Professor Joan Guàrdia, rector of the University of Barcelona, represented CHARM-EU at a round table where speakers highlighted the crucial role of European university alliances in building the future of higher education, science and sustainable well-being for both citizens and the planet.

Some rectors and vice-rectors members of CHARM-EU were invited to participate, as representatives of European university alliances, in a high-level event in Paris yesterday. Professor Joan Guàrdia, rector of the University of Barcelona, represented CHARM-EU at a round table where speakers highlighted the crucial role of European university alliances in building the future of higher education, science and sustainable well-being for both citizens and the planet.
The morning session was co-hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to launch the “Choose Europe for Science” programme, which encourages researchers and entrepreneurs to choose Europe as their home. Several CHARM-EU rectors and vice-rectors attended the event. In the afternoon, delegates participated in a session organized by the European Commission‘s Executive Vice-President for Social Rights and Skills, Quality Jobs and Preparedness, Roxana Mînzatu.
