This Wednesday, 10 April, the Sant Jordi poster at the University in 2025 was presented in the exhibition hall of the Faculty of Fine Arts. The author of La ferida is Pilar Rosado, visual artist and professor of Fine Arts.

Among the attendants in this event were the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Eugeni Boldú; the vice-dean for Culture and Students of the Faculty, Ana Urroz; the representative of the Office of the Vice-Rector for Culture, Memory and Heritage, Pili Mateo, and the director of the Area for Communication, Laura Rosel.

In her speech, Pilar Rosado highlighted the role of artificial intelligence as a collaborative tool in the creative process, and explained how her design aims to reflect on the relationship between the human hand, the symbolic gesture and technological transformation.

The poster is based on the universal gesture of picking a flower as a symbol of connection between human beings, nature and culture. Using generative artificial intelligence algorithms, Rosado reinterprets the legend of Saint George from a contemporary and inclusive perspective. The composition incorporates elements such as a hybrid and wounded hand, a rose and smoke to symbolize fragility, struggle and transformation.

The poster La mà ferida thus becomes an artistic proposal that unites sensitivity, technology and commitment, and invites us to rethink the symbols of Saint George’s Day from a transformative perspective.

It can be seen at the UB’s Faculty of Fine Arts during the days before and after Saint George’s Day, as part of the Sant Jordi at the University programme, which every year fills the UB’s spaces with cultural, literary and artistic activities.
