About one thousand blood donations are estimated as necessary every day in Catalonia to cover the needs of patients admitted to hospitals. In general, anyone between the ages of eighteen and seventy, weighing more than fifty kilos and in good health (pregnant women are excluded) can donate blood. Apart from these areas, you can also check the website donarsang.gencat.cat to find out the most suitable place to donate.

The Blood and Tissue Bank is the public company of the Department of Health of the Government of Catalonia, whose aim is to guarantee the supply and proper use of blood and tissues in Catalonia. It organizes blood and bone marrow donation campaigns in collaboration with other entities to ensure that reserves are maintained at optimum levels.
