On 11 February, the Paranymph Hall of the Historic Building hosted the welcoming ceremony for the international mobility students who are studying this second term of the 2024-2025 academic year at the University of Barcelona.


​​​​​​​During the event, Montserrat Pareja, lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business, gave the presentation “A marvelous path through life and the city”, in which she highlighted various aspects of Barcelona as a diverse and innovative city. The public could experience the excitement of the castells with their performance in the Paranymph, by the colla Arreplegats de la Zona Universitaria. The Vice-Rector for Internationalization Policy, Raúl Ramos, presided the session, in which the Delegate of the Rector for International Mobility and Global Commitment, Bibiana Crespo, also took part. The event closed with a musical performance by the Icelandic singer-songwriter Halldór Már, known for the TV programme Katalonski, which he hosted on Televisió de Catalunya.

​​​​​​​Over the course of this semester, the UB is estimated to receive more than 700 exchange students, a figure that reflects the institution’s commitment to promoting international mobility. With mobility agreements with over a thousand universities around the world, the UB continues to support this strategy of educational cooperation. Other UB faculties have also organized welcome sessions to provide students with relevant information about their stay, registration, enrolment and other aspects of university life.
