From the first semester of the academic year 2024-2025, Aranese courses will be offered at the initial levels (A1 and A2), aimed at students in the fields of language and literature and education, mainly students of the degrees and master's degrees of the Faculty of Philology and Communication and the Faculty of Education and, more specifically, those specialising in Early Childhood Education and Primary Education and the master's degree in Teacher Training for Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and Language Teaching. However, the courses are also offered to anyone interested in Aranese and Romance languages in general.
These are 40-hour courses and students are awarded two free-choice credits. The Aranese certificate even counts as a merit in the job vacancies for teaching staff.
It is possible to enrol in both courses at the same time. Students who have already attained the A1 level and only wish to enrol in A2 must present the corresponding certificate or pass a level test.
The Aranese courses are run with the support of the Department of Culture and Language of the Conselh Generau d'Aran and the Secretariat of Linguistic Policy of the Government of Catalonia.
