The University of Barcelona incorporates Victoria Alsina into the Institute for Lifelong Learning Foundation (IL3, UB) to define institutional strategy and long-term planning, as well as to establish and consolidate high-level partnerships. Alsina will lead the institution's new project in the field of lifelong learning and postgraduate education, a key area for the future of the UB.

The University of Barcelona incorporates Victoria Alsina into the Institute for Lifelong Learning Foundation (IL3, UB) to define institutional strategy and long-term planning, as well as to establish and consolidate high-level partnerships. Alsina will lead the institution's new project in the field of lifelong learning and postgraduate education, a key area for the future of the UB.
Victoria Alsina (Barcelona, 1983) is a professor of political science at Pompeu Fabra University. She was Councillor for External Action and Open Government of the Government of Catalonia between May 2021 and October 2022 and, subsequently, Councillor of Barcelona City Council from May 2023. She holds a degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Pompeu Fabra University, where she also holds a PhD in Political and Social Sciences. She also holds a Master’s degree in Public Management from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and a Master’s degree in Public Management from ESADE.

She worked for ten years in the United States, first as a professor and researcher at the Harvard Kennedy School, and later as professor and academic director of the Center for Urban Science + Progress at New York University, where she coordinated the prestigious Governance Lab.

The Institute for Lifelong Learning Foundation (IL3)

The UB’s Institute for Lifelong Learning (IL3) offers a wide range of lifelong learning courses aimed at both individuals and companies seeking to improve competitiveness through knowledge management. The IL3 brings together a large part of the UB’s lifelong learning offer in different areas of knowledge, in face-to-face, blended or online modalities, and with master's and postgraduate degrees, as well as specialization courses.
