The University of Barcelona has launched a call for grants to fund research projects that provide practical and effective solutions in the management of disaster situations, such as natural catastrophes and humanitarian emergencies. The initiative comes in response to the destruction caused by the Dana storm that affected the Valencian Community and other communities in Spain at the end of October.
The UB will award four grants, with a total funding of 40,000 euros — 10,000 euros each — with the aim of encouraging teaching and research staff to submit proposals. The aim is to bring to the surface initiatives that will help mitigate the devastating effects caused by the storm.
The deadline for submitting proposals starts today, 13 November, and will run until 30 November 2024. See full details of the call for proposals and the procedure.
Solidarity with the victims of the Dana storm
The UB community can continue to collaborate with the areas devastated by the Dana by making financial donations, as recommended by the UB Solidarity Foundation.
