The University of Barcelona is therefore taking part in this year’s Education Fair with a comprehensive and well-established academic programme comprising 77 bachelor’s degree programmes and 12 double-degree programmes.
Inter-university studies with UPC
The UB’s range of bachelor’s degree programmes also includes two new inter-university bachelor’s degrees coordinated by the UPC, with the participation of the UB’s Faculty of Economics and Business. These are the degree in Telecommunications Technologies and Business Management, and the bachelor’s degree in Agri-Food Technologies and Business Management, which combine scientific and technological training with strategic business management.
With the bachelor’s degree in Agri-Food Technologies and Business Management, students will gain an understanding of the structure and operations of agricultural and livestock holdings and the agri-food industry. Furthermore, the bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Technologies and Business Management will equip graduates with advanced skills in telecommunications technology and a solid grounding in business administration and management.
Revision of the four-year curriculum
Four bachelor’s degree programmes have updated their curricula ahead of the coming academic year: Public Management and Administration, Political and Administrative Science, Mathematics, and Computer Engineering.
In the case of Public Management and Administration, a more appealing, up-to-date programme has been designed, one that is better aligned with the new professional profiles of public sector employees, with the aim of attracting students with a vocation for public service.
The changes to the degree programme in Political and Administrative Science are designed to address the significant political and social challenges emerging worldwide and to align the curriculum with the demands of the labour market.
Furthermore, the revision of the Mathematics curriculum, which will build on the strengths of the current scheme whilst addressing its shortcomings, is driven by three factors: changes in the profile of undergraduates, the merger into a single department, and the possibility of creating 9-credit modules.
Finally, the bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering is being updated to focus the curriculum on computing, artificial intelligence and data science.
The UB stand
The UB stand at the Education Fair covers an area of 180 square metres. It is organized into five sections based on subject areas, a general information section, and a space for group discussions. Fourteen interactive touchscreens will be placed throughout the stand to provide personalized advice. The information team comprises subject-specific advisors from the various departments, general advisors who can quickly direct students to the course they are interested in, and technical staff from the Student Support Services. The ultimate aim is to provide visitors with information and ensure they have a positive experience.
At the UB stand, there will also be representatives from the affiliated institutions of the School of Cinema and Visual Communication of Catalonia (ESCAC), the School of Public Relations (ESRP) and the Institute for Public Security of Catalonia (ISPC).
The UB stand is located in Hall 1 of the Montjuïc exhibition centre (221 Calle B).
