A new technology allows the development of low temperature-resistant wheat varieties in Argentina
Iden Biotechnology, an agricultural biotechnology company from Pamplona, has signed an agreement with Bioceres, an Argentinian agricultural company based in Rosario, for the development of wheat varieties which are resistant to low temperatures. This system makes the plants more tolerant to freezing, but without showing any abnormal growth or development. The technology, based on low-temperature stress resistance, has been developed by the University of Barcelona and the University of Valencia and transferred to Iden Biotechnology by the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation.
