The conference “Tomorrow Tastes Mediterranean” is back.

On 30 November and 1 December, the Historical Building of the University of Barcelona will host the third edition of the international conference "Tomorrow Tastes Mediterranean", organised by the Torribera Mediterranean Center (TMC), an initiative of University of Barcelona and the Culinary Institute of America.

With the aim of helping the restaurant sector and the food industry, this conference promotes the Mediterranean diet, its benefits and sustainability, in line with the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the European Green Deal and Harvard University's Menus of Change. Just like in previous editions, the various nutritional qualities of the Mediterranean diet will be discussed, supported by several scientific studies over the last few decades. This year, however, special emphasis will be put on Mediterranean biodiversity, how it needs to be preserved and how it can be affected by each of the stages of the food cycle.

Experts from all Mediterranean regions will participate in this edition of "Tomorrow Tastes Mediterranean", which includes more than ten sessions that will address some of the most persistent issues related to the Mediterranean food-based diet, such as aquaculture and the fishing industry; the future of diets based on olive oil and nuts; or the preparation of a zero-carbon menu.
