Day to commemorate the fifty years of history of the Faculty. This is a celebration aimed at all the Faculty's staff — students, teaching staff and technical, management and administration and services staff. From 12 noon, the Paranymph of the University of Barcelona will host an event chaired by the rector Joan Guàrdia, where there will be a round table with the participation of several former deans and the current dean of the Faculty to review the half-century of the centre's history. The round table will be chaired by the journalist Carla Turró. The event will also include the participation of the Choir of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science and the projection of a video with a compilation of photographs of the Faculty from its beginnings. The institutional event will also include the traditional inaugural lecture at the start of the academic year by Professor Ernest Fontich, under the title "Varietats invariants, els camins de la dinàmica".
After the ceremony, at 2.00 p.m., there will be an apéritif in the Science Courtyard for the whole Faculty. Afterwards, from 3.00 p.m., there will be festive activities open to everyone. At 3.00 p.m. there will be a Butifarra a contra rellotge competition, organised by the CRAI Mathematics and Computer Science Library; from 3.30 p.m., the Faculty's Science Courtyard will host a session of board games, organised by the UB's Leisure Club, LUDO UB, and there will also be the escape game “Alien Invasion”, which will be played throughout the Faculty. The meeting point to start the game will be the Science Courtyard. The activities will last until 6.30 p.m..
