The UB confers honorary doctorates on Harry C. Dietz and Bart L. Loeys, experts on Marfan and Loeys-Dietz syndromes

The awardees of the honorary doctorates, who identified and named Loeys-Dietz syndrome, have pioneered the clinical and biological understanding of minority genetic diseases that cause severe aortic and cardiovascular health problems.
