<i>Australopithecus deyiremeda</i>, an ancestor of the human species discovered in Ethiopia, was bipedal and climbed trees

Professor Lluís Gibert, from the University of Barcelona, is the only expert from a European institution participating in an international study based on the analysis of the bones of a fossilized foot and teeth that has revealed how Australopithecus deyiremeda, a human ancestor that coexisted more than three million years ago with Australopithecus afarensis — the famous Lucy — on the plains of East Africa, moved and fed.
From December 24 to January 5, the service will remain closed due to the institutional closure of the University of Barcelona for the Christmas holidays.
During working days within this period, support will only be provided via email.
SAE telephone and face-to-face support during academic course:
Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 am to 2 pm, and Tuesday and Thursday from 10 am to 5 pm.
The timetable may change at Christmas, Easter week and during the summer.
