New therapeutic strategy designed to help lower cholesterol levels

A study led by the University of Barcelona and the University of Oregon presents a new methodology — based on molecules known as polypurine hairpins — capable of acting on the PCSK9 protein, a known therapeutic target for reducing blood cholesterol.
